We hosted 80+ people for Euchre Night! People of all ages and stages of life sat face to face, battling it out for the win! Plus, we collected canned goods for our Trinity Food Pantry. It was a great way to get out of the house on a cold winter’s evening. Thanks to Todd & Deb Laird and their small group for organizing and hosting this amazing fun!

THIS FALL | Beginning September 14th
This fall we'll be studying the book of Colossians, which is a letter the apostle Paul writes to a small church in a bustling city about the person of Jesus Christ. Throughout this book Paul describes that fulfillment and satisfaction we all yearn for are found in one place - Jesus. The young Colossian church is tempted (like us) to become distracted and look to other places, philosophies, and ways of living to find what they need. Colossians is a letter about returning; returning to Jesus and recognizing for the first or the 100th time the beauty found in Christ.

Our AWANA kids EXCEEDED their verse goal for the year (earning some pies in the face of our leaders!), 11 kids at AWANA finale told us they accepted Jesus this year or took a step of faith to be baptized, and Trinity Kids on Sunday morning just finished 3 years in the Bible!

This June, Ward Church has the incredible privilege of hosting the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) General Assembly at their Northville Campus from June 17-19. This year’s theme, “Firm Foundation; Faith, Family +Future,” will inspire and unite EPC leaders—Teaching Elders, Ruling Elders, and guests—as they gather to worship, be refreshed and equipped, strengthen connections, and make important decisions that impact the entire denomination.

Volunteers will play a vital role in making this event a success, from welcoming guests to ensuring everything runs smoothly. If you’d like to be part of this exciting event, please check out upcoming volunteer opportunities online.

Plymouth Community Honors

Our Plymouth Events Outreach Team was present again at this years Showcase & Taste of Plymouth! They handed out 7 Bibles, prayed with people, had meaningful conversations, and Dan Dalton accepted Volunteer of the Year on behalf of our Trinity Food Pantry, for his and the whole teams’ dedication to that ministry. Sabbatical has officially started for Pastor Mark & Denise. Please keep them in your prayers over the next 3 months as they sabbath & refuel together!

Some fun milestones while they’re gone:
  • Mark will walk in his doctoral commencement ceremony.
  • They will be traveling abroad, learning & dwelling in solitude at some ancient church historical sites and in the scriptures.
  • Denise will be serving on a mission trip in Uganda.

We look forward to having them back in August.

We brought 24 people to serve at Eagle Village this month! Our work with the kids included Easter Egg decorating, playing games in their new gym, and leading an outdoor hike. Friday night we were greeted by Eagle Village staff and two residents: Dustin and Michael. Michael shared honestly with our group that some of his roommates "don't listen and live like there is no hope."  

As a reminder, the residents at Eagle Village are all foster kids who have been abused or neglected & the ministry there helps to bring them restoration. Their new transition program for 16-20 year olds is helping these kids who age out of residential care.  

Our construction teams took on many projects of the weekend including installing a new privacy wall/door, adding AC units to cabins, and building custom laundry shelves for the kids.  It was a most special ministry weekend and hope the church will join us in Detroit this July and Eagle Village next year for these missions trips!

If you’ve lived in Michigan for any length of time, you know that summer is a much anticipated time of the year. After a long winter, Michiganders are eager to enjoy the outdoor beauty our state has to offer. Summer provides the opportunity to retreat from familiar work, school, and social routines. As we dream and ponder these opportunities, let’s consider a few invitations from the Psalms:

· An invitation to allow the poetry and imagery of the Psalms to slow us down and draw us into worship of the Creator and the wonder of His creation.

· An invitation to allow the honesty of the psalmists to give us language to attend to the wounds of our hearts that we so easily and readily ignore.

· An invitation to allow the prayers of adoration and confession to create space in our hearts and lives for the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Radical Generosity!

Last Wednesday at our Midweek Dinner, a team headed to Uganda this July hosted us with great food, hospitality and a beautiful message of the awesome work they’ll be doing this summer.

Cash total received so far is around $1200 and we’ll soon get an additional online giving total this week! We are always blown away by the generosity of Trinity family. What an act of the Holy Spirit!

If you’d still like to give toward helping the communities in Uganda hear the gospel, receive trauma resources, medical assistance, basic needs like mosquito nets, prayer and more. . .you can still give. Most of all, please PRAY! The Lord loves to partner with us in his sovereign plans. Thank you!
