CDC Kids Camp

Monday-Thursday, July 13-16, 8am-2pm (Zoom orientation on Sunday, July 12 at 7pm)

Each summer, CDC runs a Day Camp for approximately 100 children. After much planning and decision making, they have decided to go ahead and hold camp for the neighborhood kids again this year (it will look different; details below and in our team meeting). CDC does not have a church to assist them the week of July 13-16 and has asked us to come along side and help love the kids. We realize this is last minute, but we want to offer to our church family this opportunity to serve.

Know that CDC is taking many precautions and is implementing many new protocols to protect both you, the volunteer, and the children who will be attending (including cleaning, sanitizing, masks, taking temperatures, pre-packaged food, and splitting the children up into groups that will attend different days are part of the plans in place to make this as safe as possible).

  • Where: CDC Ministry Center located at 1550 Taylor St, Detroit 48206. Piper Smith will be the Trinity lead this week at CDC, but will meet the team on site at 8am.
  • Who can serve? We are looking for 20-25 adults/teens, 14 and above. If your family has 12- and 13-year olds that are interested, and at least one parent attends, they are welcome to serve the younger CDC kids.
  • Register below. Once you do that, Julie will send you some paperwork that CDC requires.
  • Cost: $40 for adults. Scholarships for all Trinity youth! (Pay below: Fund "CDC")
  • Lunch: Volunteers bring their own lunch to be eaten after students around 12:30 p.m. We will provide water bottles.
  • Transportation: Van driver is needed. If someone is willing to do so, we will meet at church at 7:30am and return at 2:30 pm. If no one is able to drive the van, we will meet at CDC at 8 am each day.

Please prayerfully consider if this is something God is asking you to do, knowing the current health crisis we are facing. Many precautions are in place to protect all. There is risk, but there will also be blessings and bridges built.
